Anxious Patients
Every dental professional wants their patients to feel calm and relaxed. Unfortunately, some patients have deep anxiety issues with regards to dental treatment. There are alternatives to alleviate stress and anxiety at Parklane Dental with the following methods.
Consious Sedation
All conscious sedation procedures are performed by a qualified anaesthetist at our practice.
Benefits:
- No hospital admission
- No hospital costs
- Can have a lot of work done in one session
- Avoid repeated visits to the dentist
- Excellent for nervous or anxious patients

INHALED SEDATION
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is used and it tends to wear off quickly.

ORAL SEDATION
A sedative tablet is taken one hour before the procedure. It creates a drowsy effect, calming an anxious patient.

I V MODERATE SEDATION
A sedative is administered through a vein.

GENERAL ANAESTHESIA
This usually takes place in a hospital setting. The patient is not awake and is unaware of any dental procedures performed.
